Apples and Pumpkins Oh My!
Hi there! How was your weekend? I don’t know about you but mine seem to fly by. I have no idea how one minute it’s 6pm on Friday and the next minute I’m going to bed on Sunday night preparing for the week ahead! This weekend was particularly relaxing. I started Saturday with an advanced class at Physique 57, which was incredibly challenging, and then mellowed out with their half hour stretch class in an attempt to meet some of my Awesome October goals. This week was one of my favorite weeks of the whole year . . . SPA WEEK! After my class I headed over to Sothys Spa for a facial. I love spa week because participating spas offer $50 treatments and the normally $120 facial at Sothys only cost me about $70 with tip. How awesome is that!? And so relaxing.
This weekend the Hubs and I *finally* went apple picking. The drive up to Westchester was unbelievable! I forget how much we miss living in the urban jungle but the trees were so vibrant with oranges, reds, yellows intermixed with the greens. A few trees looked as though they were on fire they were so colorful!
The drive was so relaxing and enjoyable looking at all the trees, but unfortunately when we got to the orchard, we learned that all of the apples had been picked off the trees! We did our best to find some located way at the top of the trees, but this was the best we could do:
Ahhh well. We filled out a large bag out of the bins of apples they had. We’ll know for next year to go a bit earlier. But it was worth the drive for the views. The orchard was located up on big hill overlooking corn fields. Nothing says fall more than this view! 🙂
The orchard also had the most adorable pumpkin patch full of not just the orange variety but white ones as well!
I think our 700 sq ft apartment is a litle bit more suited for the smaller kinds, so we stocked up on some of those.
After we we left the orchard, we drove around looking for a place to eat the picnic we had packed. Westchester is an incredibly swanky area! Lots of horse farms and mansions. It was fun to window shop! 🙂 We actually stumbled upon this park with the most amazing views and unpacked our picnic right there!
As if I need an excuse for cheese!
Once we got home, I couldn’t wait to display my new fall decorations around our house! So cute.
And because I just can’t help myself, here are a few more photos from the day!
Readers, what do you prefer: a facial or a massage? Have you been apple or pumpkin picking this season? Do you decorate for fall?
