Beachbody On Demand

Hi friends!  So if you are like me you probably get about 1,000 promotional emails a day.  Even after a concerted effort to unsubscribe myself from all of these lists last summer, I still get so many junk emails!  But every once and awhile those junk emails pay off with something good, like a 30-day free trial of Beachbody On Demand!

Beachbody On Demand

I have been a fan of Beachbody workouts like Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire, BODYPUMP and PiYo so I was pretty excited to hear that they are now streaming workouts online.  I feel like streaming online fitness videos are really the new way to workout and DVDs are becoming more obsolete because it is so much easier to just open up your computer and choose from a number of workouts.  I am definitely no stranger to online workouts!

So here’s how Beachbody On Demand compares:

Beachbody On Demand Turbo Fire 1

– Free 30 days!  Yay for free trials!

– Full programs!  The entire Turbo Fire program, including the additional advanced workouts, are included on the site.  That means you have access to the whole shbang without having to buy and keep track of all the DVDs.  This is great if you DVDs get scratched!

–  In addition to the workouts you also get calendars, nutrition guides, quicks starts and program guide–just like you would if you bought the set.  You can download the guides, which is so useful so you don’t have to log in every time to check these things out.

– Fantastic Workouts:  Turbo Fire, Turbo Jam, Insanity, Brazil Butt Lift, P90 workouts and much more.

– A lot of the programs have workout cards you can download and use when you can’t push play!

– The sign up process is a pain.  You have to fill in a lot of details, then fill out a survey, then wait for an email to activate your account.

– Once you are in, you still have to fill out an agreement.

– There are ads embedded in the videos that play after the workout for Shakeology.  There is a lot of product pushing on this site, which can get irritating.

– Not all of the Beachbody workouts are available.  The Les Mills programs are not online.  PiYo and 21 Day Fix are not available except for one sample workout each.

– I am not completely sold that it is worth the money.  After the trial period, I *think* (I actually can’t find the price…) that it is $2.99 per week.  While this is not a terrible price considering all the workouts and information you get, I am not sure it is worth it for me since I already own a number of the programs and the ones I don’t own, I am not that interested in.  BUT, if a bunch new programs came out that I was really interested in, this might be a good option for me.

Readers, what’s your favorite Beachbody program?  Are you a fan of online workouts?  Do you gravitate towards sporty workouts or fun workouts?
