Fitness Survey + An Announcement

Hi guys!  So I have a really exciting announcement to make!! First I want to thank you all for all the support you’ve been giving me over the past *almost* year (that’s right, my blogiversary is coming up and I’ve got some special posts planned!).  Without you readers this would just be a diary of my life.  I gain inspiration from all your support and feedback!

Anyways, back to the announcement . . .

I’m so excited to be joining the Sweat Pink team!  Sweat Pink Ambassadors help Fit Approach LLC spread their mission to people around the world.  They believe in building a healthy community and want to encourage people to get out, sweat, play hard and have fun.  I love their mission statement so I’m going to share it with you here:

We believe that kicking ass is best done in pretty shoes. We’ve learned that real women sweat, and sweat hard. We know that assertiveness, strength, and ambition are the ultimate feminine qualities. We concede that sometimes it takes hours to get ready, but we’re also no strangers to just rolling out of bed and going. We’re convinced that we run faster in pink shoelaces. We believe in pushing ourselves, and we believe in giving ourselves a break, too. We’re all about the rush of endorphins and the thrill of the challenge. Well after that excitement, on to today’s post!  This Fitness Survey has been making the rounds on the blogs and I thought it would be fun to participate!  Many thanks to Sara at She Cooks, She Crafts, She Runs for hosting this link up!  Read on to see my answers and feel free to leave some of your own in the comments! 🙂

Zumba Shoes

1.  What did you eat for breakfast?

Coffee, greek yogurt with berries and a drizzle of honey.  Hardboiled egg white.

2.  How much water do you drink a day? 

As much as I can.  I try to drink at least 32 oz.

3.  What is your current favorite workout?

Ohhhh there are so many!  I love Zumba, 305 Fitness, DMF, Physique 57, Chaise 23.  Basically anything that is dance cardio or barre based!

4.  How many calories do you eat a day?

I don’t know!  I don’t count calories, I just try to eat healthy.

5.  What are your favorite healthy snacks?

Greek yogurt!  I’m obsessed!  Check out all the new Chobani flavors!!

6.  What do you usually eat for lunch?

Oh lunch is a tough one!  I never know what to eat for lunch!  I usually have some sort of salad.  If you have any good ideas that are easy to make and bring with me to work, let me know!

7.  What is your favorite body part to strength train?

My arms.  I always think my arms look good when I am strength training them!

8.  What is your least favorite body part to strength train?

Oh my abs.  First of all, it hurts like heck!  Second, you have to do this whole pull in thing, which makes it really hard.  Third, I never get a six pack no matter what!

9.  What are your “bad” food cravings?

Carbs!  I love all kinds of carbs!  Pasta, pizza, bread. . . yum!  Oh and I love cheese.

10.  Do you take vitamins or supplements?

I take vitamin D mostly in the winter because it supports your immune system and helps with seasonal affect disorder, which I am 100% positive I have.  Summer is just the best!

11.  How often do you eat out?

1-2 times per week, which I think is pretty good considering I live in one of the culinary capitals of the world!

12.  Do you eat fast food?

Yes.  Five Guys burgers are my favorite fast food.  They are a summer treat!

13.  Who is your biggest supporter?

The Hubs.  He is the best!  He always believes in me and supports everything that I do.  When I wanted to change jobs, he told me it was a great idea.  When I feel like I don’t look so great, he tells me I look amazing.  When I have big silly dreams, he tells me they are possible.  Plus he let’s me be the boss of our social and activity calendar!

14.  Do you have a gym membership?

Nope!  We have a gym in our apartment building but I actually don’t use it that often because I favor pay-per-class workout studios and DVDs.  I am also really active outside skiing, cycling, swimming, kayaking, etc.

15.  How many hours of sleep do you get a night?

Usually 7-8.  I really need to go to bed earlier but I’m always up late writing for you all! 🙂

16.  Do you have a “cheat” day?

Not really.  I don’t believe I am ever cheating but rather living a balanced lifestyle.  I try to limit my indulgences and splurges to a time when they really count.  For instance, I don’t feel an overwhelming need to have birthday cake at work, but I will order whatever I want off the menu when the Hubs and I go out to dinner.  I’ll eat salads for lunch so we can have wine on the weekends.

17.  Do you drink alcohol?

See above!  Haha!  Yes.

18.  Do you have a workout buddy?

My college pal Alison is a great workout buddy!  She loves the same classes I do and is always willing to try new things.  I also go spinning with Cheryl at Flywheel!

19.  What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?

I feel that I have been committed to a healthy lifestyle for so long, it’s hard to pinpoint a “before” and “after”.  But, I think the best part about living a healthy lifestyle is feeling strong, fit and healthy.  Every day I feel good about myself and the choices I make and I think that is essential for a happy life.

20.  What is the last healthy thing you did?

I went to Physique 57 tonight for FiTMAPPED’s FiTCRAWL!

21.  What are your favorite shoes to workout in?

Lately I’ve been dancing a lot so I wear my Zumba shoes!  See the photo at the top!

22.  Photo of your favorite workout outfit.

This is a new one from Lululemon and I’m loving it!  All the bright colors!
