Friday’s Food and Fitness: The Blogger Edition Part 2

Hi guys!  How are you!?  Excited that it’s Friday?  I know I am!  Hope you have something fab planned for the weekend.  I think ours is going to be low key again and it may or may not involve some more tennis (most likely, definitely yes).

Welcome to Friday’s Food and Fitness: The Blogger Edition Part 2.  As I mentioned last week, I decided to do a round-up of recipes from some of my favorite food bloggers (in no particular order).  Because there were so many (obviously!), I had to split them up into two weeks.  So welcome to week 2.  In case you missed week 1, you can read all about right here

FOOD

Homemade Arrabbiata Sauce from Davida at The Healthy Maven

 Arrabbiata

I only virtually “met” Davida a few months ago but I feel like I’ve known her forever.  She always comes across as the most genuine person and is truly interested in what you have to say.  Plus she comes up with really cool recipe ideas that I would never ever think of (pickle hummus anyone?).  This Arrabbiata Sauce is to die for!  I had mine with some chicken and pasta and it was amazing!

Fig, Walnut and Caramelized Onion Pizza from Sarah at Making Thyme for Health

I pretty much drool over everything Sarah makes!  Her meals are all vegetarian and super healthy and she is incredibly sweet.  She just got engaged so if you head over there to check out her recipe, don’t forget to say congratulations!!

Pomegranate Kale Salad from Sarah (AGAIN!)

 Kale &pom salad

So I initially was not planning on showcasing two recipes from Sarah but when she posted this Pomegranate Kale Salad on Monday, I was all in!  I shopped the ingredients right away and made this salad to bring to work with me for lunch.  So yum!!  It actually is accompanied with Maple Glazed Pecans and although I bought the ingredients to make those, I ran out of time so I threw some plain walnuts on top (oh, when I said I bought all the ingredients, I meant I couldn’t find pecans for some reason!?).  Still very yummy!  I’ll have to do the pecans when I have a bit more time!

Spaghetti Squash Boats from Gina at Skinnytaste

I must confess that I eat pasta… a lot of pasta.  At least once a week I will dig into a big gluten-filled bowl of steamy goodness.  I know all you healthy living bloggers out there are falling off your medicine ball chairs at my carb obsession confession but I can’t give it up, and I won’t.  So just sue me (no don’t).  Anyway, everyone goes on and on about how spaghetti squash is the best thing to replace pasta so I thought I would give this recipe a whirl.  I loved this recipe!  It was delicious.  However, it was not pasta.  I will continue to eat my pasta and I will also enjoy this non-pasta spaghetti squash dish because it is yum.

FITNESS

I’ve been busting it out at home this week!  On Wednesday, I told you guys all about the Fusion Fitness DVDs from the Dream Body Cardio Series that I have been doing.  Holy cow.  So tough.  I’m so sore!  I love how they target my arms and abs.  I consider those two things my “trouble spots” because I have a more difficult time toning them than other areas of my body.  They just generally take more attention to train than my legs for instance.

DVDs 2

Readers, do you know any of these lovely bloggers?  Any fun recipes you tried this week?  What’s your most difficult area to tone?
