Friday’s Food & Fitness: Farewell!

Hello friends!  Or should I say, bye friends!  I’m leaving on an aeroplane today to take me to some (hopefully) warm and sunny weather!  But don’t worry, you won’t miss me because I’ll be back Monday with a new post and you’ll get to see some fabulous guest posters next week!  Also, I couldn’t let the week go by without Friday’s Food & Fitness!  No theme this week, just food & fitness

FOOD

Well, if you say Tuesday’s post on How To Create a Week of Healthy Meals, then you know what I’ve been up to in the food department! I have to say that everything just tastes better when you don’t have to do much cooking!  And the prospect of having dinner ready when I get home…amazing!

My veggie curry was one of my favorites.  So delicious and nutritious and colorful!

FITNESS

Wonderful news, friends!  My foot is feeling so.much.better!  Yay!  I was practically having a nervous breakdown that I was going to have to wear a boot in Australia.  Nooooooo!  To be extra careful I still stayed away from impact workouts this week and dabbled in a few faves:

–          Pump (again!)  – I better have some sweet looking muscles when I hit the beach next week based on all this crazy lifting I’ve been doing.

–   Flywheel – I used to hate spin classes.  Like really hate them and now they are one of my favorites!  I don’t know what happened but when boutique cycling hit the scene instructors got better, music was more fun, the workout was more challenging.  Flywheel kicks my booty every time!

–          Physique 57– This is just a given.  I tried their new online workout featuring Erin Andrews.  Loved the workout!  The only drawback was that the price was $10 instead of the normal $5.  What’s up with that!?

–          Turbo Fire- Don’t worry, I stayed away from the cardio and just did the sculpting and stretching classes.

When my foot began hurting I thought I was going to have to give up so much but in reality there are so many non-impact options.  Now that my foot is healing I am going to make it a point to include more non-impact workouts on a weekly basis.  I may not have a stress fracture but my injury was definitely my body’s way of saying “too.much.jumping!”

Readers, do you try to incorporate low impact workouts into your routine?  What is the longest flight you’ve ever done?  What are you doing for the holidays?
