Friday’s Food & Fitness: Snack Attack Plus a Helpout

Hi friends!  Another Friday is here!  Woo hoo!  Hope you made it through your week and have some exciting weekend plans.  The weather is not supposed to be quite as nice as it was last weekend but hopefully we will still be able to get outside.  Welcome to this week’s edition of Friday’s Food & Fitness!  Let’s get started.

Rather than go through my eats for the week, I thought it would be fun to experiment with a little game I like to call “What’s Your Favorite?”.  This week we are featuring favorite snacks because who doesn’t love a good nosh between meals?  Full disclosure, I saw some of these snacks on Popsugar and decided to adopt them as my new favorites.  The rest I invented myself!

I was given a free Google Helpout to try and write about.  All opinions are 100% my own.

In addition to some of my usual suspects (Zumba, Pump, BodyStep & BodyAttack), I also had the opportunity to try out something totally new!  I first heard about Google Helpouts on Carly’s blog and I was excited to try it out for myself!

Google Helpouts is an online platform that allows people to connect with experts and get real help in real time.  All you need is a computer with a camera and boom, you are having a private lesson in the comfort of your own home.  For instance, if you have always wanted to learn Spanish and need a tutor, there is a Helpout for that!  Helpouts are available on a variety of different topics ranging from learning how to play guitar to urban farming to makeup and fashion consultations.  For almost every topic under the sun, there is a Helpout.

Helpouts range in length, price and qualification.  You can browse the topics available and pick the price range and time that suits you.  It’s super convenient to book the Helpout online.  Most Helpouts will have a schedule available or will ask that you contact the instructor for availability.

I chose Real Yoga for Real People with Mia Hall.  I had some questions about my current vinyasa class plus I wanted to find out some more restorative poses I could be doing at home.  Mia was fabulous.  She was very accommodating and took the time to explain all kinds of different poses I can do at home and what props I can use.  I love to use restorative yoga to help me sleep better and her tips were so helpful.  Not to mention she had some great suggestions for my vinyasa class as well.  The hour absolutely flew by and I was surprised when we had already reached the end.

I think I’m hooked on Google Helpouts!  I am dying to try out a photography Helpout to get better with my DSLR and there is also a plating Helpout that looks awesome because who wouldn’t want to plate their food pretty?  There are just endless options and they are all reasonably priced.

Are you interested in trying out Google Helpouts?  Well, I’ve got you covered!  Enter the promo code MYOWNBALNCE and you can give Helpouts a try!

Readers, tell me what’s your favorite snack?  What do you need Helpout with?  What’s the best workout you did this week?
