Get Your Body Rockin-Part 3 & *Free* Yoga at Lululemon

Hello, all you yoginis!   Part Three of my Get Your Body Rockin playlists could not come at a more perfect time!  September is National Yoga Month and it is only fitting that I provide you with an awesome playlist to help you flow through your asanas and create a rhythm for your uijayi breathing!  But first, tonight I hit up Lululemon at Madison Avenue for a *free* candlelight yoga class to benefit Butterflies Child Rights, a volunteer organization created to promote children’s rights in Delhi, India.

Lululemon can be credited with starting the trend of offering free yoga classes to the public.  The classes are hosted in store and mats are provided to all participants (FYI-Lululemon sells great -read expensive- yoga mats so practicing on their mats is a treat).  Lulu brings in great local teachers and tonight was no exception.  Loren Basset from Pure Yoga organized the event and she tag teamed taught the class with other great local instructors, Aubrey Lampkin, Jenny Gammello and Marko Galjasevic.

The class was completely inspirational.  I had such a blast doing my downward dogs in store with other yoginis from the area.  The teachers were fab and the staff at Lululemon put on a great event!  There was even some vino at the end for a pleasant surprise!  The most important thing was that Lululemon donated $10 to Butterflies for every participant who attended tonight and there were 101 participants at the class!  Every single person there helped a child!  I mean can National Yoga Month get any better than that!?

O.k.  Now that you are all inspired to do some yoga, on to my playlist selection . . .

My playlist is structured to have a mix of more upbeat tempos (perfect for getting the heart rate up in a vinyasa class) and slower more relaxed tempos perfect for stretching and holding long poses.  There are also some songs on here that are great for meditation although I also recommend heading to Target and picking up one of their relaxation CDs.  There is nothing like meditating to the sound of beach waves (or insert your favorite sound here). So whether you are doing flowing through sun salutations or resting in savasana I have you covered here!
