More Summer of Fitness Plus a New Barre Video

Hey there!  How is your week going so far?  Have you been participating in any #SummerofFitness events?  For those of you just joining, I’ve coined this summer the Summer of Fitness because I’ve been going to so many great fitness events around the city and just generally keeping myself fit!  Recently I’ve been to free classes from Body Conceptions and 305 Fitness at Hudson River Park, Yoga in Times Square and Stand Up Paddleboarding.  Last night, I hit up Zumba downtown with Skinnygirl Daily and Z ClubNY, one of my favorite Zumba studios!  The free class brought up tons of fans that wanted to shake it like a polaroid picture!  It was approximately 95 degrees out and we were dripping in sweat but the class was amazing!

In addition to the free loot they were giving away, I also won Skinnygirl Daily’s Instagram contest giving me a three month membership to Spotify!  How exciting is that!?  I’ll let you know how I like it! 🙂

Obviously with all these fitness activities this summer, I want to avoid suffering from dehydration or heat exhaustion.  Of course it’s important to stay hydrated and while I generally drink water during my workouts, recently I was sent some drinks by 2B to try out.*  2B was created originally to be sold by the NYC Department of Education to replace sodas in schools.  I’m a huge fan of promoting health for kids, starting by no soda at school so I was excited to try these drinks out.  They are all natural, aloe infused drinks that are 20 calories per bottle.  They use Pure Fruit, a natural sweetener.

I had a chance to try all of the different flavors: Tropical Fruit, Coconut Passion, Lemonade, Fruit Punch and Grape.  My favorites were Lemonade and Coconut Passion (I love anything coconut!).  The drinks were a great substitute for soda or juice.  I loved how they did not taste like a sugar substitute but rather more natural and more like the flavors they are advertised as tasting like.  I liked most of the flavors, although personally, the grape was a little overwhelming for me (I’m not a huge grape person anyway).  If you are craving a sweet drink this summer like a soda, juice, slushie, try a 2B.  Your waistline will thank you!
