Significant September

I’m a little late to the party this month considering its been September for quite some time now but I feel like September is always a significant month and I could not just bypass this month due to an editorial calendar failure! With back to school, back to work and new goals being set all around, September is going to be a great month! So let’s talk about how we can make September significant, shall we?

signficant september

1.). Incorporate some fall flavors.  The farmers markets are brimming and produce is at a wonderful peak.  There are so many wonderful options for putting together a healthy and delicious seasonal meal.  A few of my favorite sources: Williams Sonoma In Season Now, Iowa Girl Eats and Cooking Light.

2.) Take a break.  Summer is the time for vacation while September screams back to obligations.  Why not schedule a minute to savor what life has to offer.  Book a weekend trip, plan a trip to the spa or just schedule in a yoga or meditation class.  Do something that helps recharge your batteries and ease back into all of your to do lists. For me, September means baby moon time!

3.) Participate in National Yoga Month.  It’s so easy and there are so many great ways to participate.  Show your body some love with a little bit of yoga!

4.) Try something new. I recently had the opportunity to try out FitFusion complimentary for one month.  I love online workouts because they are so convenient, cost-effective and provide a great deal of variety.  FitFusion has a great library of actual fitness DVDs that you can view online for one low monthly price of $9.99.  They have some of my favorites like Jillian Michaels (I’ve been wanting to try her Yoga Inferno DVD for awhile now), Cassey Ho from Blogilates, the Tone It Up girls, Doonya and so much more.  They also have a great selection of prenatal videos including a fantastic Pilates video that I loved. Some videos are full-length while others are broken up into shorter increments so you can pick your perfect workout length.  Head to Fit Fusion and give it a try to see if they have something you’ll love!

5.) Read a good book.  I love a good novel to draw me in.  Recently I’ve read a number of good ones including: The Island, All the Books in the World, The Husband’s Secret and anything by Sarah Jio.  I’m currently reading The Fault in Our Stars.

Readers, what are you up to this month?  What’s the last good book you read?  When’s the last time you tried something new?
