Visiting P Town Plus a Healthy Smoothie Recipe

Hey guys!  I can’t believe the week is already over!  I have to admit this week was a little tough getting back into the swing of things after having a whole week off!  But I’m excited to stick with a healthy routine (i.e., no ice cream!).  Although we were not that unhealthy during our trip to Cape Cod, we just ate a lot more!  I did try to inject some health into our diets though, including our trip to the end of the Cape!

We generally stay on the upper Cape when we are visiting because it’s not as far for us to drive when we are coming up from NYC.  But since we had a full week off, we decided to go a little crazy and dead all the way to Provincetown at the end of the Cape!

Now if you’ve never been to Provincetown or P-town as the locals call it, you are missing out!  Basically it’s known for its “alternative” lifestyle including artists and as a vacation destination for gay and lesbian couples.  Hence the multitude of rainbow flags!

Doesn’t he look thrilled??

Well in addition to some of the crazy shops P-town, there are also some quintessential Cape Code sites.

More importantly, P-town has some amazing health food restaurants like 141 To Go.

The Hubs and I stopped here for a quick pick-me-up!

I got this amazing beet, carrot, apple and ginger fresh juice.  The Hubs got this really yummy smoothie that I thought was so delicious I had to recreate it at home.  The only problem was that I couldn’t remember everything that was in it.  So I improvised a bit!  Check it out!

Banana Almond Milk Smoothie

I threw in the starfish tea towel to make it seem like I was back on the ocean.  The buildings in the background are probably a dead giveaway though! 😉 Ok this is so good and so simple to make!

one banana

one large scoop of cashew butter

about a cup and a half of unsweetened almond milk

a sprinkling of cacao powder

a few ice cubes

Don’t worry it’s not sweet at all and its full of protein.  It’s the perfect breakfast.  I think the folks at 141 To Go would be proud!  Thanks P-town!

Readers, have you ever been to P-town?  Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?  Do you like smoothies for breakfast?
