YogaToday-Practice for Life

So National Yoga Month may be over but that doesn’t mean you should be slacking on your yoga practice!  I’ve found this amazing resource for full length online yoga classes!  YogaToday is a fantastic website offering *free* weekly yoga classes you can do at home whenever you like!  For me, its one of the best ways to experience great and varied yoga classes as I don’t always have time to make it to a yoga studio!

Each class is usually about an hour long set to an amazing backdrop and is lead by one of the three YogaToday instructors, Nessha, Adi or Sarah.  Neesha specializes in Anusara yoga, a form of Hatha yoga.  Adi has a background in Ivengar and Ashtanga but primarily teaches Vinyasa style classes.  While Sarah teaches a blend of Hatha, Kripalu, Ashtanga and Kundalini.  YogaToday offers classes for first timers, novices, yogis (intermediate) and gurus (advanced) providing its community with a wide range of levels to suit all practices.

The classes are varied and offer different focuses depending upon individual needs.  For instance, there are sports specific yoga classes, strengthening and balancing classes, meditative and pose-specific classes.  YogaToday will sometimes offer a series of classes with an overarching theme, for instance, their weight-loss series and yoga for stress relief are favorites of mine.  Other favorites include a class for runners and a class for bikers, hikers and runners.  I also love a good restorative class to help me wind down at the end of the day.

In addition to their weekly free classes, YogaToday has short classes posted on YouTube.  Usually no more than 20 minutes long and sometimes much shorter, these classes offer a taste of the full length classes and are perfect for a quick pick me up.  I love one class featuring Adi focused on breathing and meditation (I close my office door and do this at work sometimes when I am really stressed!).  YogaToday also offers paid subscriptions for $9.99 per month or $89.95 per year.  With this subscription you enjoy unlimited yoga videos from YogaToday’s video library of over 200 yoga classes!  Alternatively, if you find a class you really like, you can download it for $3.99 each (or $2.99 for paid members) to enjoy again and again!
