Seven Day Detox Plan
Hi friends! How is everything going with you? I have to admit that last week was not the best week for me in terms of eating or working out. I ended up missing three (!) days of workouts and eating out almost every single night. I didn’t even buy groceries. I know. With all the goodness of summer, I’m feeling like I could use a little bit of a detox. So I planned out a seven day detox to get my diet back on track, stay motivated to consistently workout, give my skin and teeth a little extra attention and give my mind some R & R. I thought this would be a great way to welcome in fall and prepare for the change in season.
I hope you’ll follow me this week while I do a little bit of detoxing and feel free to follow along if you so please! I’ll be instagramming/tweeting and otherwise sharing using the hashtag #FallDetox if you would like to play along!
So Day 1 of the Seven Day Fall Detox looks a little something like this:
FOOD
I started the detox at lunch with a fresh salad from Chopt. It was a harvest salad with a combo of kale and spinach with apple, beets, goat cheese, walnuts and low-cal balsamic vinaigrette. Unfortunately I kind of hated the salad… 🙁 Oh well. Dinner was better with Vietnamese fresh summer rolls and lemongrass chicken atop of vermicelli. I also drank my vitamins with Skinnygirl Daily drinks!
WORKOUT
My workout gets an A+ for the day! Turbo Fire 30 min plus Zumba means lots of calories burned plus some core strength worked in as well!
SKIN
I know you may think it’s kind of weird to include “face” as a detox category but I think looking after your skin is a huge part of the detox process. With all the sunscreen I’ve been slathering on and the warmer weather making my skin a little bit oiler than normal, I think a good skin detox is a great way to welcome the crispier temperatures of fall. Day 1 included use of Skin Prep Scrub. It’s a grainer and harsher exfoliater that I tend to use only when my skin is clogged or oily. It’s too harsh for me during the winter but right now, It’s exactly what the doctor ordered.
MIND
Day 1 was all about relaxation. The Hubs and I took a walk and just chilled at lunch. It’s nice to not have every minute planned.
Readers, have you ever detoxed before? What did you do?
